Canon EOS 550D – Everything you need to get started on a single page.

I recently hauled out some old photo albums to have a quick trip down memory lane, well it turned out to be more like a good laugh down memory lane. I’d forgotten how “back in the day” we didn’t have the luxury of checking the photo before printing it. Someone took a snap shot and you had to hope that your eyes were open, your hair was in place and the picture was in focus. Today however it’s a different story. Every time a picture gets taken of us we rush to see if is a “keeper”, that is, you look somewhat decent and the photographer got you from your good side.

With this in mind we decided to look into the Canon EOS 550D Digital SLR Camera:

Aimed at the first-time DSLR buyer, the Canon EOS 550D may be a bit pricey, but it comes highly spec’d with amazing functionality and capabilities. So for all of you that think you have a “good eye” for photography but your camera is letting you down, this one’s for you.

Without going into too many technical specifications I’m going to give you low down in layman’s terms. With the Canon EOS 5550D you can take big poster-like pictures or crop your shots without losing any of the detail. It has a really fast processor which makes your pictures look smooth and natural, plus it makes for split-second start up and near-instant review, so you can easily get that spontaneous shot and review it immediately. It works great in low light, which is perfect for those pictures when a flash may give you away or indeed wake up the subject of your embarrassing “I’m totally going to post this on Facebook” picture.

The Canon EOS 550D also takes fantastic clear cut HD video. Plus you can add an additional microphone so you can capture every word, but remember when it’s caught on tape you can’t take it back. The Canon EOS 550D is also compatible with Canon’s full range of EF and EF-S lenses and EX-series Speedlites, which is fantastic because you can just keep building on to your camera as your skills increase.
